Onyx marble is the trade name of a decorative mixture of calcite and aragonite in light olive and beige tones with brown and cream bands.
The mineral calcitaragonite is valued in gemstone healing because of its relieving effect; with the support of this type of stone, flexibility can be increased and rest and activity can be brought into a balanced relationship.
The drilled Tumbled Stones are approx. 3 cm in size and, with a hole of 2.5 mm, are suitable for leather straps, for example.
According to the international nomenclature, the mineralogically correct name for Onyx Marble is Calcite-Aragonite or Aragonite-Calcite, whereas Onyx Marble (Aragonite Calcite) is the common trade name. Other names commonly used in retail and wholesale are calconyx, calcite-alabaster, ribbon marble, aragonite marble, chalcedonyx onyx or marble onyx. The spelling onix marble, however, is not correct. The olive-green portion is also known as green Onyx (green onyx).
