A shape that is thousands of years old, cut from shimmering silver polished obsidian!
Magatamas are among the oldest known forms of gemstones and amulets; historical finds from burial mounds are known to date back to around 1000 BC. Even today, the shape of the magatama is still important as a popular jewelry symbol. The symbol represents the human spirit and is considered a powerful amulet that provides effective protection against evil spirits.
Size of the drilled magatama 3.2 x 1.6 cm x 0.8 cm, diameter of the hole 3 mm.
Translated from Japanese, magatama means "curved bead".
Silver obsidian (also called silver shining obsidian) helps to bring repressed contents of consciousness to light. Perception is sharpened and awareness is strengthened.
